Three-Day Intensive

Three-Day Marriage Preparation Intensive

15 hours total | $5,500 per couple

You want to begin marriage with clarity and confidence.

Prepare thoroughly. Begin marriage with clarity and confidence.

A couple during a three-day marriage preparation intensive session

The three-day intensive is the most comprehensive marriage preparation we offer. It gives you sustained time to explore your histories, align on expectations, and practice the skills that support a lasting marriage. Over 15 hours, this premarital counseling in Salt Lake City moves at a pace that lets each topic settle before the next one begins. You will have room to talk through finances, family, intimacy and faith in depth, and to practice new skills until they start to feel natural.

It is especially helpful for couples blending families, navigating cultural or religious differences, or carrying concerns from past relationships. These situations can bring extra questions about parenting, boundaries, trust and traditions. A three-day marriage preparation intensive gives you the time to work through them together, so you can start your marriage with clarity instead of uncertainty.

Day One: Understanding Your Histories

  • Explore your families of origin and how they shape you.
  • Reflect on past relationships and what you bring into marriage.
  • Align on core values and the roles you each expect.

Day Two: Building Your Partnership

  • Talk through finances, careers, and household decisions.
  • Practice healthy disagreement and repair after hurt.
  • Strengthen communication skills on real topics.

Day Three: Planning Your Future

  • Build habits for emotional and physical intimacy.
  • Plan for children, in-laws, and outside pressures.
  • Create a roadmap for your first years of marriage.

You'll leave with a roadmap for your first years together

You'll leave with: A shared vision for your marriage, practiced communication and conflict skills, and a roadmap for your first years together. Many couples leave feeling deeply connected, confident and fully prepared for marriage. You'll have lasting communication skills for couples, clear agreements on finances, family and roles, and a personalized plan for a healthy marriage you can return to whenever life gets busy.

Best for: Couples who want the most comprehensive preparation, or who face added complexity going into marriage. It's a strong fit if you are blending families or remarrying, if you are navigating cultural or religious differences, or if past relationship hurts still affect how you trust and communicate. It also works well for couples who want in-depth premarital counseling that covers every major topic before the wedding.

My Approach for Marriage Preparation

I am so excited to work with you!  I know your relationship is likely in a rough spot right now and you are feeling so many different emotions.  I am here for you and I am invested in helping you find a path forward - whether that is together or otherwise.  Every intensive starts with careful preparation: a couples consultation, individual meetings with each partner, and questionnaires. This helps me understand your relationship, your families and your hopes for marriage before we begin.

We will go at your pace. Using Gottman-informed premarital counseling methods, we talk through expectations around money, family, faith and roles, practice handling conflict well, and build the friendship that carries a marriage. You'll leave with clear agreements and practical tools for the years ahead.
