Rebuilding Intimacy Intensive in Salt Lake City, UT

Half-Day Intensive

Half-Day Rebuilding Intimacy Intensive

3 hours | $1,250 per couple

You feel more like roommates than partners.

Name the distance. Find a first step back toward each other.

A couple during a half-day rebuilding intimacy intensive session

Emotional and physical distance can build slowly until partners feel more like roommates. A half-day intensive gives you a safe, structured space to talk about what has changed and what you each want. If you're noticing a lack of intimacy in marriage or worry you're drifting toward a sexless marriage, this is a gentle place to start. Intimacy counseling in a focused setting helps you name what's missing without blame.

This session is ideal for couples who feel disconnected and want guidance on where to begin. It's also a good first step for couples curious about a marriage intensive but not ready for a full day. Many couples use it to start rebuilding emotional intimacy before deciding on longer work.

What we'll work on:

  • Understanding what has contributed to emotional and physical distance.
  • Talking openly about intimacy needs and expectations with guidance.
  • Identifying barriers to connection such as stress, resentment, or avoidance.
  • Learning small, practical rituals of connection.
  • Creating a first-steps plan for rebuilding closeness.

You'll find a first step back toward each other

You'll leave with: A shared understanding of the distance between you, language for talking about intimacy, and concrete first steps. Many couples leave feeling closer, more hopeful and more comfortable talking about affection and sex. You'll know how to rebuild intimacy in your relationship one small step at a time.

Best for: Couples who want to start reconnecting and need a clear, safe place to begin. It's a strong fit if you feel like roommates, if intimacy issues in marriage have become hard to talk about, or if you want to try intimacy therapy in Salt Lake City before committing to a longer intensive.

My Approach for Rebuilding Intimacy

I am so happy to work with you!  Your relationship is important to you - otherwise you wouldn't be here.  Your relationship has been missing its spark for a while and yet you still care so much about your partner.  You can now experience the closeness you have been missing! I am a newcomer to your relationship, so every intensive starts with careful preparation: a couples consultation, individual meetings with each partner, and questionnaires, so our time together goes to what matters most. I am a newcomer to your relationship, so this preparation helps me understand the history of your relationship and any intimacy issues before the intensive begins. It also means you can start the work right away, without spending hours on background.

We will go at your pace. Together we work on understanding what has created distance, talking openly about desire, needs, and boundaries, repairing the hurts that block closeness, and rebuilding affection, touch, and emotional safety at a pace that feels safe for both of you.
