Communication Improvement Intensive in Salt Lake City, UT
Half-Day Intensive

3 hours | $1,250 per couple
Every conversation seems to turn into the same argument.
Slow the conflict down. See the pattern. Leave with a plan.

When the same arguments keep coming back, it can feel like you are speaking different languages. A half-day intensive gives you focused time to step out of the cycle and understand what is really happening between you. Poor communication in marriage is rarely about not caring; it is usually a pattern that both partners get pulled into. In this session, we slow that pattern down and practice communication exercises for couples in real time, so you can see what changes when you respond differently.
This session is ideal for couples who feel stuck in repeated conflict, want direction before starting longer-term therapy, or need a reset on how they talk to each other. It is a focused, approachable way to try couples therapy in Salt Lake City without committing to a full day. Many couples use a half-day couples communication intensive as a first step before a longer marriage intensive or ongoing marriage counseling.
What we'll work on:
- Mapping your conflict cycle and the moves each partner makes when things escalate.
- Identifying the underlying needs and fears beneath recurring arguments.
- Learning a simple structured conversation for difficult topics.
- Practicing active listening and validation in real time.
- Creating a personalized communication plan for the weeks ahead.
You'll be given tools to break the cycle
You'll leave with: A clear picture of your conflict pattern, a few practical tools to interrupt it, and a roadmap for what comes next. You'll go home with a shared language for what is happening between you, more patience for each other's reactions, and renewed hope that things can change. Small shifts made in one afternoon often lead to calmer evenings, more honest conversations, and a stronger sense that you are on the same team.
Best for: Couples who want quick clarity and a starting point for improving communication. It's a strong fit if you keep having the same argument, feel misunderstood or unheard, tend to shut down or escalate during conflict, or want to try focused work before committing to a longer intensive. This intensive also works well for busy couples who can set aside one block of time but not several days.
My Approach for Improving Communication
I am excited to work with you! I am a big believer in change, especially in relationships. Your relationship isn't perfect and that's OK! There can be some beauty in that. I love helping you implement new skills and tactics to bring the spark back and see your partner in a new light. I am a newcomer to your relationship, so every intensive starts with careful preparation: a couples consultation, individual meetings with each partner, and questionnaires, so our time together goes to what matters most.
We will go at your pace. Using Gottman-informed couples therapy methods, we slow down your conflict cycle, practice listening so each partner feels heard, and learn how to repair after hard conversations. You'll leave with practical tools and a plan for the weeks ahead.
